A Guide to How to Choose Your School Canopy.

There are many factors to consider when selecting the type of canopy or shade structure for your school such as:
What is the canopy going to be used for?
How much will a new school shelter be used?
Where is the canopy going to be situated?
How large does your new shaded play area need to be?
How does it fit (aesthetically) in with the existing surroundings?
Obviously safety is of paramount importance, especially where children and vulnerable people are involved, so it is important to know that your canopy is structurally sound and is backed up by guarantees.
There is a wide and sometimes confusing range of canopy types on the market; all of which have specific benefits depending on their intended use. For example, as the name implies, sailshades provide shade from the sun in hot weather but are not considered waterproof and so not used during wetter months. Glass or transparent polycarbonate roofed structures allow light through, but can create “greenhouse” conditions in hot weather making for an uncomfortable space underneath. Tensile fabrics allow the creation of outdoor structures that are both light and heat reflecting, making them ideal as covers for spaces that are in use all year round. In addition, such fabrics are waterproof, block UV light and, due to their flexibility, allow the creation of canopies with aesthetically pleasing rooflines. The tensioning technology means that such roofs are rigid and every bit as strong (if not more so) than transparent alternatives.
Inside2Outside Ltd use tensile fabrics exclusively and our range of canopies are extremely versatile. Structures are free-standing, can be made to any size and are designed in accordance with wind and snow load requirements to satisfy building regulation requirements. Fabrics have a smooth and mould-inhibiting surface layer making them easy to keep clean and are guaranteed for 10 years.
